On September 27, 2018, the Willard Flashes Middle School got the win against the Vermilion Middle School Sailors. The Flashes had a quick start by scoring a touchdown on the first drive of the game. The Sailors had an okay start with a thirty-yard field goal to seal out the first half. The Flashes scored a touchdown in the third. The Sailors scored in the fourth. But the Flashes scored in the fourth also to seal the game. The game was accompanied by a “fifth quarter” which was played by only seventh graders on either side. Both teams had one drive with unlimited plays to score. The final score ended up being Flashes 22 and Sailors 10.
