Pictured in the center is Mrs. Zita Smith of Barberton, Ohio. Mrs. Smith got involved last year through her daughter who teaches middle school art at Willard Middle School.  Mrs. Smith has been a huge help to design more period appropriate clothing as well as providing the evening meal for students attending the Friday night dinner and ball as well as breakfast on Saturday. Her countless hours of sewing and cooking are much appreciated!  Mrs. Smith will be teaching a cooking station on Friday and running the Mercantile on Saturday.

Dutch Milliners Participate in the Reenactment for the First Time

WillardRevWar is excited to have the Dutch Milliners for the first time at our event.
The Dutch Milliners is a joint venture in experimental archaeology between Hayley Havener and Brittany Frederick. This duo researches and recreates the many facets of 18th Century life as historical interpreters focusing on the many life roles of the average woman. Part of their journey is documenting and sharing their research in hopes of encouraging and inspiring others to dive in and really experience history.

Bagpiper to Help at Reenactment

Brad Harp first learned of the Revolutionary War Reenactment and Encampment in Willard when he met Willard students teaching stations at Lyme Village in September of 2016.  He contributes his musical expertise on the bagpipes, adding to our music stations of dulcimers, tin whistles, and fifes.  Brad has been reenacting for more than twenty years and lives in New London with his wife, Ruthie, and daughter, Cheyenne.
Thank you for your dedication to our program.
